Wranger JKU Vortex Cross Bars + Backbone Rack System Overview

This is the preferred roof rack system for Jeep JKU looking to mount roof top tents or other large equipment. The Backbone provides internal skeletal support frames for the included mounting plates. Interior integration of the Backbone support frames creates a series of 3 incredibly robust base mounting points on each side of JKU hardtop roof.

The Vortex RCL roof rack system attaches to the Rhino-Rack Backbone. This simple design improves on the existing strength of your Jeep Wrangler without compromising the sleek and bold look of this iconic vehicle. The Rhino-Rack Backbone is fitted to the internal chassis of your Jeep Wrangler. This design will not hinder any of the current capabilities of your Jeep's design. The legs and cross bars of the RCL system can easily be removed when they are not required using a revolutionary trigger locking system.

  • The strength of the backbone system is complemented by the simplicity of 3 heavy duty vortex cross bars, which maintain the strength of the backbone but add minimal weight themselves, leaving more carrying capacity for your gear.
  • A lockable cover plate protects the locking mechanism and is Masterkey compatible.
  • Aerodynamically designed with vortex generating rubber stripping on crossbars to minimize wind drag and noise on the road.
