After a scorching hot summer, we finished our Labor Day Weekend with a lot of fun action in the RAG showrooms and out on the trails. The end of summer is a great time to reflect back at recent adventures and review what aspects of your particular camp setup worked and what areas could use improvement. Dialing in your gear, your vehicle and your overall setup is so much of what we enjoy doing at Rhino Adventure Gear. If you have ideas, questions or simply want to discuss your new or existing setup, we’d love to hear from you. An amazing fall season is now upon us- there’s never a better time to get outside than now!
Please enjoy the Rhino Report!

Rhino-Rack Releases a Backbone System for 100 Series Land Cruisers
Toyota first released the 100 Series Land Cruiser in 1998, a full 20 years ago. As a testament to continued reverence in the off road community for this iconic vehicle, Rhino-Rack has just launched a Backbone System precisely fabricated to align with the 100 Series’ roof line and factory mounting points.
The Backbone paired with a Pioneer Platform has been an especially huge hit among Jeep JKU and 5th generation Toyota 4Runner owners, who rave about the strength of the construction and the sleek, low profile, lightweight aluminum design of the Backbone System. We ourselves run a Backbone + Pioneer Platform on our 200 Series Toyota Land Cruiser, and we’re thrilled that those lucky enough to be 100 Series owners can now tap into the extensive line up of Backbone + Pioneer Platform accessories & bracket kits. Awnings, Lighting, Roof Top Tents, Jacks, Jerry Cans…. You name it, you can secure it with confidence using the Backbone + Pioneer Platform Rack System.
As always, get in touch to talk shop about rack systems and installs!

Recent Installations at RAG San Francisco & RAG San Diego Showrooms
Featured San Francisco Roof Top Tent Install: Rhino-Rack Backbone with iKamper on 2017 Jeep Wrangler JKU
Rhino-Rack’s Backbone Roof Rack System for the Jeep JKUs has to be one of our favorite rack systems on the market. Not only does it look great and meld well with the classic Jeep vibe, but it is incredibly strong, lightweight and versatile. The interior skeletal frame acts to distribute the load away from the fiberglass hard top and onto the interior frame and rollbar of the Jeep. This makes the Backbone System one of the best integrated roof rack system on the market for the Jeep JKU. P.S. For those Jeep JL owners, Rhino-Rack is expecting to release the Jeep JL Pioneer Backbone System some time in Fall of 2018. We’ll keep you posted.
Featured San Diego Roof Top Tent Install: Custom Rhino-Rack Topper Tracks & Crossbars with iKamper on Chevy Silverado 1500
Mounting a roof top tent on a truck topper requires a sturdy topper and dependable rack system. We use Rhino-Rack topper tracks mounted directly to the fiberglass of the camper to help distribute the load and provide a flexible system capable of handling the loads of a roof top tent. Since this requires meticulously aligned drilling it’s a commonly requested type of custom rack installation for us.
On this Chevy Silverado, we clipped in a set of Vortex Rhino-Rack cross bars utilizing quick release RLT-600 feet and settled the iKamper right onto its new home. With the huge cargo area afforded by the topper, these adventurers are ready to haul their gear and spend some time outside!
